Recently, I have received a copy of a wonderful book (love you, Mumsnet!) and now I would like to share the pleasure with you. A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure: Lulu the Lion Cub Learns to Roar by Jaime Amor is a beautiful gem I am so happy to have for both my son and myself. Parents and Yoga lovers, I am sure you will appreciate it. Because this book is a brilliant way to introduce Yoga to your kids and have some fun together.
Yoga is a great activity for children, I absolutely believe in this. The benefits of Yoga for kids are innumerable and although it is often rejected as some harmful philosophy that contradicts religion, I think it can only teach us good things. If something teaches us to be kind and patient, to respect ourselves and the world around, how is it possible that it is bad? I can see how differently my own kid behaves while doing Yoga with me. He gets thoroughly involved and focused, he smiles and enjoys the postures, and he is so excited to practise with Mum. I definitely think Yoga benefits him.
If you too agree that Yoga is good for our children, then Lulu the Lion Cub Learns to Roar will grab your attention. It is so positive and colourful, its pages are so full of fun and lovely pictures that your kid will simply love it. The author tells a funny story through Yoga poses that are “adapted from traditional ‘adult’ yoga”. They are all illustrated with nice photos and easy-to-understand explanations.
Together with Lulu and her friends, kids are going on a funny journey to Africa. Jaime shows the young readers how to do different things during the adventure, like putting up their tent, or how to imitate the animals they see in Africa.
But this is not all. The book teaches children plenty of useful lessons – about anger and how to overcome this feeling, about self-care and positivity, about kindness and respect. It also tells them that breathing and positive thoughts can help us feel calm and relaxed.
This is a book full of cheerfulness and brightness. Beautifully written and charming, it smiles in your hands.
I would highly recommend A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure: Lulu the Lion Cub Learns to Roar to any parent who wants Yoga to become part of their kids’ everyday life. Not only does the book represent Yoga as a playful experience that makes us happy, but it also conveys important messages for a kid to remember. And of course, it could be the perfect gift, don’t you think?
Yoga is awesome. Yoga is fun. Grab your copy of Lulu the Lion Cub Learns to Roar, unroll your mat and do Yoga with your kids. I already have this copy. So now, I am going to have a look at Jaime Amor’s Norris the Seahorse Takes on the Bullies. My boy and I may have one more book soon. 🙂
